Dino's is one of the best restaurants in Mankato. The crab and lobster dip is to die for and I've never been disappointed with the pizza. The price is slightly spendy, but if you are in a group and split the pizza it is manageable for a college age person. Good for special occasions or date nights. The atmosphere is great and even as an adult I love that you can draw on the tablecloths!

Stopped in for the first time with our kids. Googled it beforehand and said family dining. Very friendly and quality service. Pizza was very good. Bathrooms clean. Best of all, they have paper table covering and a pail of crayons on the tables. The waitress then brought out a plate of dough for each of our kids to play with. VERY NICE. Good hot and tasty. Service quick and attentive yet not overboard. Maybe our new favorite.

Favorite pizza in town! It is pricey for what you get, but the Location is nice. Services are the typical college kids who aren't the best, usually slow and they often mess up the order, but the food is great as is the atmosphere.

The best pizza I've ever had! We dine in at Dinos about once a month. They're a little spendy but well worth it. The atmosphere is very nice. Staff is very friendly. Their seafood bake pasta is very delicious. They have carry out specials during the week. Very nice place to eat.

Went in for lunch time. My wife and I and one friend decided on some of the weekday specials. Two 8' one topping pizzas and pasta Alfredo. The highlight was the Alfredo. Excellent. Decent size for $7 lunch special plus came with garlic (pizza) bread. The pizza was above average but not great. The cheese and dough were obviously fresh but I can't say the same about the toppings. Add a little oregano, crushed red pepper, and Parmesan cheese and you have a much better pizza. But for me, to get 5 stars on a pizza, it should need nothing added. Good atmosphere and would prob still do well even in a big city. Pizza 3.5 stars and Alfredo is 5. Overall 4.

We've been here a few times and the pizza is excellent. It's a cozy, intimate place right in the neighborhood. Their pizza choices range from the usual, to the adventurous... Macaroni & Cheese Pizza anyone? I've always had prompt and courteous service. I think it's a real little gem in lower North Mankato.

So delicious. I had the chicken Alfredo and my friend had the Foghorn Leghorn Pizza. It was all so good. The best part of our meal was the Tiramisu. It was soooo good. I definitely recommend this place for good familiar Italian food.

Excellent pizza all-around. Both me and my 11 year old thought it was tasty. We ordered the cheesy bread to start and that was great too. They give you a large serving of the sauce with the bread so you really get to experience how good the sauce is.

Not only best pizza in town, but this restaurant's service and atmosphere make this my favorite restaurant in town!

Best pizza in town! Great service too! My wife and I go here a lot! Try the sausage or spinach and feta, our favorites. We suggest having them cook it a little longer for a crispy crust! The servers are trained very well and a great atmosphere.

The pizza is great however the waitress could have told us it would cost an EXTRA TEN DOLLARS to do a half and half pizza. Fifty bucks for one pizza, cheese bread and pop?!? Ridiculous. Next time it'll be just pepperoni.

Just returned from another try to find a great pizza place in Mankato. SUCCESS! Dino's is right at the top of pizza places I have visited and there have been many. I spend many nights on the road for work and eating out is often a challenge to find something worthwhile. But Dino's hit the spot for me tonight. I had their Dino special pizza. Will be back this week as I am working here all week.

Ok I know I gave Dino's 4 stars, would LOVE to give 5 but honestly can't. Overall my husband and I eat here regularly but to be honest the service is at times good, at times not so good. The variation of wait times is also a problem and I am factoring in business. We have eaten here at least 20 times over the last 3 years, so here's my honest assessment: PROS: Overall excellent food. Thin crust pizza to die for, tasty, always cooked perfectly and I love a place where you can add such things as crab and lobster! BEST PASTA IN MANKATO - and we eat alot of pasta. My favorite is the rigatoni mozzarella - to die for. Excellent wine selection and surprisingly high end wine glasses, yes this is important to the taste of good wine. Very good prices. Atmosphere is old time bistro which is pulled off well, we enjoy the 50's music. Severs are consistently friendly and often eager to please. CONS: Well this is mixed actually, the wait time for a table can be as long as an hour, but I think that is because this is a popular place. If you go early or after 8 you will most likely be seated right away. Bar is tiny, have never seen a dedicated bartender so bar service depends on whoever is around at the moment to service there can be sketchy. In fact one night my husband and I sat at the bar and waited nearly 15 min and no one even looked at us. We left - but eventually went back and I'd say 90% of the time service is very good. Overall food is slow to arrive and one time I got my salad AFTER my meal - that was not good. Overall would recommend Dino's but don't expect perfection.

Dino's is a charming, upscale pizzeria for a college town. When in Kato, it was my fav place for a date. I loved coloring on the tables while waiting for my meal. The Crab & Lobster Dip served with homemade flat bread was unbelievable. The pizzas are good, but I usually got one of the sandwiches. The Chicken Artichoke will make your mouth water. A really nice place, but I wouldn't expect anything less from Dino's already established owners.

Another piece of the city in my hometown. I've been here twice, my visits being more than a year apart, and both times the place has been bustling. Good service, good food. The pizza (as I recall) was good, and my pesto spaghetti with vegetables was superb. Huge serving though, had to take it home in a box.

The pizza was above average, but the service was not. They need to do something to add a waiting area so customers don't just stand hip to hip at the entrance. We waited for a while to get a table. We asked to see if we could go to the bar and wait there, the waitress told us no and see if we want to eat at the bar. Who the hell eats pizza at the bar? I don't even think there were enough room to put a pie on that counter. Then we waited some more. They handed us menu to see if we want to order while we wait. Why not, then they took us to the bar and have us wait there while we got our wine, which is what we wanted to do in the first place!!!! Finally, we got a table. Service was pretty slow and we finally got our pizza, which we ordered when we waited in line. Guess what, the pizza did taste like it was made a while ago. It was soggy and not hot. . . . I am sure the pizza is good, but too bad we don't get to taste it. Definitely will not bother to go back. Papa Johns will do.

Wildly inconsistent. I've been here at least six times. I wouldn't go back except others do and, as another reviewer wrote, "only in a place as starved for good food as Mankato would Dinos survive." Have had some of the best pizza here, and some of the worst. Some of the best service, and some of the worst. You just don't know what you're going to get. Last time, it took them 55 minutes to get us our pizza, and when we told them that was unreasonable, the server and manager told us we were being unreasonable (and corrected our allegation that it took one hour -- no, we were told, you are wrong, it took 55 minutes). I'm avoiding Dinos in the future. So much potential here, but they just can't get it right.

Pretty nice place. Nice New York style atmosphere and Italian influenced food. Good for families or for a night out together. Prices are very reasonable, food is tastey.

We went here a few weeks ago for a girls night dinner and we all loved it. It was a Friday during lent so we were a bit limited to what we could order. But they have so many great non-meat entrees and pizzas that it turned out to be a much better option than your standard fish fry place. We had the Greek Dip (warm hummus) and it was really good. Honestly, I've never had hummus warm and I think I now prefer it this way. We split a pizza (Mutch's Gourmet), salad, and one of my friends had some sort of baked seafood and cheese dish. Everything was fantastic. Our server was really friendly - she was patient while we waited for our last friend to arrive and when we took forever to order, and kept our drinks and water full the entire time. It is a bit more expensive than other food restaurants in Mankato, but for the food and ambiance, I'd say it's 100% worth the extra money.

When you are in Mankato it doesn't get better than Dino's! My favorite pizza is the Foghorn Leghorn- it is delicious! They also have a crab & lobster dip that is great. Dining in, carry out, or delivery the service was always good.

This was a pleasant surprise in my hometown, which suffers from not having enough family friendly restaurants that actually have good food. The place had a great vibe, and the service was friendly. The waitress brought out dough on a plate for each kid to squish and play with while we waited for our food. They could also write on the paper tableclothes. The food took awhile, but it was good. In a town filled with chains like Pizza Hut, this would be a great place to go for made from scratch pizza. I had the pesto spaghetti with vegetables, and I was thrilled to find something vegetarian, light, and with veggies in a midwestern pizza place. It was bland, but otherwise good. When I come back, I will probably visit here again.

Delicious food, great atmosphere. I am partial to the Foghorn Leghorn, a wonderful chicken pizza with white sauce. It is seasoned oh-so-right.

One of the best in thin crust pizzas with fresh ingredients all the time. We've had just about every variety -- but my fav is the Italian Day Dream with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers and mozzarella. And Italian beef sandwiches are just like out of Chicago. Full bar is about right with adequate red wine and beer choices. Friday nights are busy so come a little early. Informal dining but a good place for a date. Ambiance tries for the old "Rat Pack" (Sinatra, Dino, Sammy Davis Jr) feel but don't let the wall mural freak you out. They also operate Neighbors on Riverfront and the popular Tav on the Ave sports bar on Madison Avenue.

Mankato's BEST "pizza" place. Great food, not just pizzas. Good service. If you want cheap, keept looking. If you want quality.......you won't be dissappointed!

My FAVORITE place to eat in 'kato! The "foghorn leghorn" is some of the best pizza I've ever had. If you're a veggie lover, the "farmers' market" is GREAT too, and they have a large selection of other toppings. Pastas, sandwiches... it's all fantastic, and not too pricey. The same family owns The Neighbors - exquisite Italian food, if you're looking for a swankier night out.

Yes, it's a pizza place, but not just any pizza place. This is true gourmet. The first time I went to Dino's, I was taken in by the exposed brick walls, the hardwood floors, and the old-fashioned stamped-tin ceiling. Pictures of famous musicians and movie stars adorn the walls, the lighting is warm and relaxing and I can always catch some of my favorite Sinatra tunes playing in the background. It has the feel of a romantic bistro, so it would be ideal for a date. Our family of four was delighted by the white butcher paper covering the tablecloth and the colorful metal bucket of crayons that greeted us when we sat down. We colored all over the table and giggled a lot. The kids were given balls of pizza dough to play with, which resulted in more fun and giggling, of course. The servers are friendly and attentive, and the food....well, let's just say you can't get this pizza anywhere else on earth. You can choose your own toppings from their long list, or...if your tastebuds are feeling adventurous, Dino's has created some interesting and positively YUMMY combinations of their own for you to try. There are also some delicious non-pizza choices on the menu. We've been there countless times, and it's ALWAYS a perfect evening.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
